Wearing the Armor of God to Ruhango

On to Ruhango!  We must be doing good work here because the devil has been getting in our way.  We were stuck in traffic  on our way to Ruhango going uphill for a while. Our van overheated and quit.  I don’t think the devil really wanted us to do this mission today.  Philippians  4 :19 is a verse I claimed this morning :  “My God will provide all your needs through  the riches of his glory through Christ Jesus.”  God is so good!

Within 20 minutes we had another mode of transportation and on we went….. a little late but in time to see the kiddos fed for the day. The food each day is provided by EDUKOS HONEY out of Texas. We brought juice for them after they ate.

Our theme this trip is The Armor of God.  Liz shared a devotional on the subject and Heidi relayed how this fit into our adventures this morning using the Sheild of Faith to ward off the devil’s advances.  We are all learning to give it to God and have faith!

The women in Ruhango have grown so much since our first visit here 2 years ago. Their children are thriving and happy!  This just warmed our hearts!  The women have used their savings bonuses from the last two years to raise goats, chickens and pigs to sell.

We purchased baskets from one business to bring home to sell to raise money for future loans and bonuses.

We gave out 40 microloans to this group which they will use to start and advance their businesses.

There is a wonderful pottery shop where we stopped on the way back to Kigali.  After a few quick gifts and a very late lunch, we headed to a local Rotary meeting in Kigali.  Stephen is a Hollis/Brookline Rotarian and arranged for us to attend.

It’s been a very long day, but oh so good!  Please pray that the rest of our trip will be smooth sailing…. But if it isn’t, no worries!  We wear the Armor of God!
